LIFES CHOICES…a message from Steve Johnson
Each of us makes hundreds of choices each day, most subliminally. Before even opening our eyes in the morning, while still in a semi-conscious state, we may have already decided to lie there for another five minutes. Our thoughts then go to the myriad things we need to accomplish so we abandon the opportunity of that sacred five more minutes and our feet hit the floor. These are choices you’ve already made, and your day hasn’t really even begun.
Years ago you also made a choice to keep your body healthy with exercise. Now something has come along that may have you scratching your head. Anytime something comes along that upsets my apple cart, I always remember that 10% is what really happens …and 90% is how I respond.
Keeping our bodies strong with exercise is a no brainer. Our entire skeletal system depends upon it. Cardio classes combined with progressive resistant exercises (lifting weights) are two great ways to stay in shape. You’ve relied on StrongHoldGym in the past to give you the proper equipment and proper guidance to keep your body going and we’re still here for you today.
To make your gym visits more comfortable we’ve implemented the following procedures:
General Guidelines that Apply to Everyone
- Self-isolation – If you are sick, stay home,
- Practice social distancing of at least six feet distance to the greatest extent possible,
- Wash hands frequently (20 seconds with soap and water or use of a sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol),
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects,
- Avoid touching of eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands,
- Consider wearing a cloth face covering and gloves,
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and throw used tissues away immediately after use.
Additional New Reopening Mandates
- Staff and members will utilize a one way entrance and exit. Enter through the front door and exit through the side door of the gym.
- Water fountains are for use ONLY to fill water bottles, no drinking directly from the fountain.
- Only every other piece of cardio will be available for use.
- Social Distancing
- Strict adherence to CDC distancing guidelines, maintaining 6 feet of distance in all gym activities.
- No contact training and no equipment sharing training sessions,
- Social distancing signage and floor markers

- Enhanced Cleaning & Sanitation Protocols
- Professional grade cleaning products and hand sanitizer will be available.
- Hand washing before and after workout;
- Increased disinfectant stations,
- Pre-use and post-use wipe down protocol on all equipment
- Facility will be cleaned a minimum of every 2 hours including equipment and all surfaces during staffed hours; and
- Bathrooms cleaned every hour during staffed hours.

Remember; a choice is nothing more than a decision. Through the years I’ve found there are three things involved in the decision process. The first and best is to make a correct decision the first time. The second best is to make an incorrect decision that can usually be corrected …and the third, and worst, is to make no decision at all.
Fitness is a never ending journey. It’s also the only sport where you never have to worry about winning or losing. All you have to do is stay in the game.
